One of the most exciting events in nature is the spring migration of hummingbirds! Kids are invited to learn all about this incredible tiny bird and their amazing migration journey. Craft your own hummingbird window cling to take home, too!

 

Ahhh, spring is on its way! Make plans to join us to enjoy the first birds of spring. We'll walk the lake loop at Bee Tree Park looking for those early migrators. Bring binoculars, if you have them.

Did you know it was through the efforts of bluebird societies to install & monitor bluebird boxes that the population of Eastern Bluebirds was saved? Discover how you can do your part and learn all about installing a bluebird box in your backyard. Biologist, author, and member of the MO Bluebird Society Katharine Martin will lead this lively discussion and answer your questions.
You don't have to be ready to install a box to learn about bluebird mating & nesting habits, please join us!

 

April is Earth Day month and we are celebrating by getting out & enjoying nature! Join us to look for early migrating birds, listen for & id birdsong, and spot spring blooms & buds. Please bring binoculars, if you have them, and to further enhance your experience, download the Merlin and/or eBird apps to your phone. We'll give you tips on using them to locate, id, and track birds.

Flowers are more than just pretty things - they help our birds, bees, and butterflies! Join us to learn all about flowers that are "native" to our state and how they work for pollinators.
Kids will be able to create their own "seed bombs" to take home.

 

You might have heard about the native plant movement but don't know what the big deal is or how to participate. No worries! We've got you. Join us to learn why native plants are so vital to pollinators like bees, butterflies, & birds and just how easy it is to incorporate them into your garden. We'll also discuss the types of plants that are recommended for our area. Join us.

Join us at the library! We'll be participating in the library Flight Path Project day with a talk about the many wonders of spring bird migration. From which birds arrive first, to the feeders & foods they prefer, to how to id them, Team Specialists Ariel & Brandon have the scoop.

 

During migration season, there could literally be millions of birds flying through Earth's atmosphere! Learn about World Migratory Bird Day, how you can participate, and have super fun crafting your own bird kite. Supplies provided.

Warblers? Orioles? Hummingbirds? What incredible May birds can we spot? Join us for a nature walk through Bee Tree Park! Please bring binoculars, if you have them. It's also helpful if you download the Merlin app and/or the eBird app onto your phones. We can provide tips for maximizing the apps during a bird walk.

As your garden blooms this summer, so will your backyard bluebirds! Local birding expert Ron Darling brings his years of experience monitoring bluebirds to our community. Join us to discover something new about the bluebird of happiness!
Attendees may enter to win a Good Morning Bluebird Feeder with a Bag of Bluebird Bugberry Blend. All are welcome!
